C.
Three Reasons Why Tongue Speaking is NOT an Indication of the Filling of the
Holy Spirit
1. Scriptures Do Not Teach It
(Ephesians 5:18, 19)
2. Witnessing & Speaking the
Word with Boldness are the result of the Spirit's Filling (Acts 1:8, 4:31)

Were Filled With the Holy Spirit Did Not Speak in Tongues

God's Intended Purposes for Tongue Speaking (I Corinthians 14)
1. A Miraculous Sign to that
Wicked Generation of Jews (v.22)
2. A Miraculous Sign Gift not an
Edification Gift (v.22)
3. A Miraculous Sign to
Unbelievers (v.22)
4. A Miraculous Sign Exercised in
Public not Private (v.5, 12, 19, 23, 28)
5. A Miraculous Sign from God of
Judgment on Jews for Rejecting God's Message & Messiah (v.21; Isaiah 28:11)
6. A Miraculous Sign from God
Exercised by the Apostles ONLY During that Era for Authentication of the
Men, Message & Method of God which is the Church (Acts 2:43; II Corinthians
12:12; Hebrews 2:3, 4)
7. Tongues ceased with the
passing of the Apostles/Apostolic Era (I Corinthians 13:8) [Affirmed by 1900
years of history]
In summary,
this information on tongues does not say that the people in the
present-day tongues movement are not saved. But unless they explicitly follow
the Word of God, they are clearly involved in dangerous and deceitful error.
